Unified Sports brings students with and without disabilities together on the same team, fostering inclusion, teamwork, and friendship. In this session, you’ll learn how to start and grow a Unified Sports program that benefits everyone involved. Discover how these programs can foster acceptance, strengthen school culture, and build meaningful connections within schools and communities.
Session Outcomes:
1. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what Unified Sports is and how it promotes inclusion and equity for students with and without intellectual disabilities.
2. Participants will learn practical strategies for starting, enhancing, or sustaining a Unified Sports program tailored to each individual school’s needs and special education population.
3. Participants will explore how Unified Sports can foster social-emotional growth, improve peer relationships, and create a more inclusive and supportive school environment.
Participants will receive PDP credit upon completion. SEZP and SPS teachers are welcome. Please register at TeachPoint and reach out to Renee Rose if you have any questions.
