Sally Kim and Marissa Ramos, both Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) teachers, ranked for the Massachusetts teacher of the year award. Kim landed among the top three finalists for the honor, and Ramos joined six other teachers across the state who were semifinalists for the honor. Ramos, an English language arts teacher at Forest Park Middle School, is most passionate in the classroom about the value education brings to students’ lives not only as learners but also as individuals. Kim was a math teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School and recently moved to Kiley Middle School. Kim is particularly excited about equipping students with independent math learning skills that they can apply to everyday life. Read more.
