Middle School Transformation
For over 10 years, the Springfield Empowerment Zone has partnered with educators, families and the community to drive real change in our city’s schools.
In alignment with Superintendent Dinnall’s vision for transformation of the city’s middle schools, we are launching a new initiative to redesign the middle school experience for all students. We look forward to collaborating with you in this important and exciting work.
Please join us in building stronger middle schools in the Zone by completing the survey below by July 31, 2025.
As part of a Zone-wide initiative to redesign the middle school experience for all students, SEZP commits to:
- Redesigning schools to be safe, student-centered, whole child learning environments that readies students for high school and beyond
- Making informed decisions about redesigned schools by seeking the input of all stakeholder groups including students, families, educators, and school leaders
- Ensuring equal access to high quality programming in every neighborhood
- Providing targeted intervention and support for all students
- Building around the resources of each school and its community partners
