Springfield Technical Community College hosted an exhibit called “Reclaiming Our Heritage” on Saturday. This event was part of a Black History Month celebration and highlighted the diversity of students from Springfield Honors Academy and the Springfield Conservatory of the Arts. The goal was to make the art more inclusive so that students can connect to the art in their own way. 2-D and 3-D artwork, projects, as well as video and text by students were showcased.
This was Springfield Honor Academy Student A’naysia Esteva’s first time having her work in an exhibit. She told 22News, “I mean this has never happened before, so it’s exciting, but it’s also scary.”
