Developing 21st Century Skills

Utilizing a multi-year grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), the Springfield Empowerment Zone provides afterschool enrichment programs to SEZP middle and high school students.

These programs teach important 21st-century skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, public speaking, and the ability to communicate clearly. These programs help students gain new interests, build self-confidence, and become more engaged in school and learning throughout the school year.
