Kevin Atheampong, a 17-year-old junior in Springfield, wants to be a mechanical engineer. “I like the idea of creating a product and getting it out there,” he said. “And it involves physics. I think physics is interesting.”
Tuesday, he met with a recruiter and an environmental engineer from MassDOT and with other employers, military branches, the Massachusetts State Police, educators and training programs at a first-of-its-kind job and career fair hosted by former Pride Stores owner Robert Bolduc and Bolduc’s Hope for Youth & Families Foundation.
