About Springfield Honors Academy

With a mission to prepare students for graduation from competitive four-year colleges, SHA graduated its first class in 2020. It focuses on developing the intellectual curiosity and emotional maturity of its students, strategically supporting them in their quest for becoming their best selves.

What is the school doing to improve outcomes?

  • Establishing an instructional coaching/feedback system
  • Increasing purposeful professional development opportunities for the continued growth of all educators
  • Reshaping our Academic Centering Tool (ACT) program to include attendance and better support the unique intervention needs of our academy, with specific focus on solutions to support the anxious student
  • Improving specific school systems (i.e., grading and family connections) to strengthen our commitment to being an equitable school entity
