The selective Chestnut TAG provides a rigorous, standards-based instructional program that accelerates all students’ learning. TAG values the importance of equity through a culturally responsive curriculum that affirms all aspects of student and staff identities.

What is the school doing to improve outcomes?

  • Developing and then using a guided lesson planning protocol to develop teacher proficiency for aggressively monitoring rigor and student ownership of the learning, as measured by classroom observations of implementation and use of the resulting data
  • Developing Instructional Leadership Team capacity to analyze, support, and refine approaches to aggressive monitoring and Professional Learning Community (PLC) protocol as measured by benchmarks for effective implementation and improvement
  • Implementing responsibility-centered discipline (RCD) practices to align with restorative practices using a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens by all staff in the building as measured by walkthrough observations and corresponding data collection
  • Creating structured systems that strengthen student and family decision making as measured by Insight survey data
