Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker visited Duggan Academy in Springfield, MA. During the tour, Principal Michael Calvanese explained how Duggan is college and career focused. For example, Duggan students will have opportunities for internships. Governor Baker was impressed by Duggan Academy. “You’ve got a hell of a school here,” Baker said after the visit. Baker was joined by State Education Secretary James Peyser, Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership board chairman Christopher Gabrieli, School Superintendent Daniel Warwick, Assistant School Superintendent Lydia Martinez, State Sen.
