Duggan Academy
Duggan Academy is an Expeditionary Learning community dedicated to upholding high academic expectations through authentic learning experiences. Its students, grades 6-12, attain academic success and demonstrate exemplary character.
Duggan Middle School provides two hours per week of embedded enrichment with community partners as well as robust varsity and junior varsity athletic programs.
Duggan High School offers a variety of internships, AP courses, and dual enrollment classes in partnership with Western New England University, Springfield Technical Community College, Springfield College, and Westfield State; it graduated its first class in 2019.

What is the school doing to improve outcomes?
- Increasing student ownership of academic tasks (Students driving their own learning)
- Implementing feedback systems (teacher to student, peer to peer), where quality feedback is provided consistently and frequently based on standards and rubrics to drive student ownership and revisions are routinely made
- Improving and refining our already established intervention systems in the Middle School, and implementing intervention systems in the High School
- Providing increased opportunities for all learners to access the curriculum (emerging bilinguals, exceptional learners, advanced students)
